It was formed in 1869.

It was named in honor of President Abraham Lincoln. He was an American statesman and lawyer who served as the 16th president of the United States from 1861 to 1865.

Then again, to obtain a record copy, residents must also pay a fee. First copies of birth records cost $10. Death certificates in Lincoln County will set a person back $5 for a first copy.

NOTE - If a requester would like to obtain records face-to-face, they must adhere to a variety of rules in Lincoln County. The office has opening times of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. PST from Monday to Friday. Photo ID is needed to obtain records in Lincoln County. Both driver's licenses and state IDs would suffice.
