Socorro County Information

Socorro County is found in New Mexico. Back in 2020, there were 16,595 total inhabitants. Socorro is the current county seat in Socorro County.

It was formed in 1852.

Socorro was originally the name given to a Native American village by Don Juan de Oñate in 1598.

Socorro County records their criminal activity in the form of criminal records. These records cover murders, rapes, burglaries, arson, motor vehicle theft, assaults, and crimes of a sexual nature. In Socorro County and across the whole state of New Mexico, police officers are required to keep an up-to-date list of all records of criminals. Socorro County Public Records

However, Socorro County charges a fee per record copied. Birth records in Socorro County cost $10 for the first copy. Death records in Socorro County cost $5 for the first copy.

NOTE - If a requester would like to obtain records face-to-face, they must adhere to a variety of rules in Socorro County. Any individual must visit between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. PST from Monday to Friday to obtain records in-person in Socorro County. In Socorro County, some form of photo ID is needed to get records.
