It was named in the abuse and wrongful death on May 25, 2018, of Roxsana Hernández Rodríguez. Rodríguez was a 33 years old transgender immigrant from Honduras.

Cibola County records their criminal activity in the form of criminal records. These records cover murders, rapes, burglaries, arson, motor vehicle theft, assaults, and crimes of a sexual nature. Records in Cibola County do come with a charge. First copies of birth records cost $10 in Cibola County. Cibola County Death records cost $15 per first copy.

NOTE - Cibola County has several rules that must be followed when it comes to obtaining records. The office is open between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. PST from Monday to Friday. If a requester wishes to purchase documents, they must bring some form of photo identification. This could consist of a driver’s license or state ID. All Cibola County public record requests must be put in writing.
